Trouble - VAMPS
As you all probably know, this is a remake of Trouble by Shampoo. I think VAMPS did a better job than those 2 idiots. Although I must say I don't really like the PV. I remember this song was widely popular when I was really young, like 8 years ago or something. I still remember Meng Chun singing that lah! LOL! The good old Primary School days.
Anyway here's some background information on VAMPS. VAMPS is a joint project by HYDE of L'Arc~en~Ciel, which from what I've heard is currently in hibernation until 2011 (hahaha), and KAZ of Oblivion Dust. VAMPS recently released their second single, "I Gotta Kick Start Now", on March 13, 2009. Vampires + Friday the 13th? Anyway, Trouble is also in that album, it's currently selling for 1000 yen in Japan, not sure whether it'll come out in Singapore. Their 2009 Live Tour will begin in April, but I doubt they'll come to Singapore anyway. Too bad! :D
VAMPS' first single "Love Addict" was released last year. The rhythm is awesome and their PV is great. It's written fully in ENGLISH. I really envy artists who incorporate other languages into their songs. Some of them are Tokio Hotel, Otsuka Ai and 方大同. They took time and effort to find a translator and learn new languages, and import what they've learnt into their work. For example Tokio Hotel was a German band, but they decided to learn English and rewrite their songs for their English-speaking fans. In an interview, VAMPS said that they aim to share their music with the whole world, despite not being fluent in English. They have set a goal and are working towards it.
Who says all artists are giving bad examples to the younger generation?
HYDE, the vocalist of VAMPS and L'Arc~en~Ciel, is turning 40 this year. However, he still continues to strive for excellence and ventures into the world of English music. He is willing to learn new things and share them with his fans.
I think he deserves the Life Long Learner's Award lah!
